USING THE CANS/ANSA WITH CAREGIVERS & FAMILIES (RATING SCALE)
What is the CANS? This is a tool to gather information about your child’s needs and strengths. How is the CANS used? A rating scale is used for each question/item which will determine the action level for each item.

USING THE CANS WITH INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES
You may be unsure about when and how to introduce the CANS measure to an individual and/or the family and how to engage them in the process of completing the tool. Likewise, there are often questions about how the CANS may be used to discuss their clinical conceptualization and engage in treatment planning with the individual/family.
